I totally forgot how old this album was. When it came out, this disc didn't leave my Sony xplod for months.

I remember a simpler time in pop culture, where the family of Rosa Parks got really upset with Outkast and this made national news for like a week straight . Probably the single biggest PR coup the band could have hoped for. This was right before they started to hit the mainstream, they were still renting studio time before they purchased Stankonia studios (and named their next album after it, which was epic ). OK, I apparently know too much about Outkast.
(my take: The refrain makes sense to borrow her name, and if anything the song keeps her name more widely known that it otherwise might have been)

I watched “Dispatches from Elsewhere” - Andre 3000 was one of the actors. Very interesting show.

Aw man, hah. I feel like my favorites hold different spots in the top 10 depending on the seasons. Right now I’d have to say “People Under The Stairs”, and “The Notorious BIG”. I just listened to a podcast about the Tupac/B.I.G “feud” which moved Mr. Smalls/Wallace into rotation. “People Under The Stairs” are 10/10 for me though.
However I LOVE:
Jurassic 5
Wu-Tang (The Rza, and Capadonna are my fav’s).
I got to hand our blunt up to Method Man at “Rock the Bells” circa 2007. He did not hand it back:/
Everyone from the Native Tongues
Posse
The Roots
Early Jay-Z
Big L, Nas, and the other greats of this era.

Thanks for introducing me to People Under The Stairs and reminding me of Jurassic 5. Got my soundtrack for the day!
